Katie George has worked in nonprofit organizations for ten years—both out in the field implementing projects and as a fundraiser writing grants. She has worked in California’s hottest deserts near Thermal and along the U.S.-Mexico border in Nogales, Arizona, in an array of non-profit organizations—from human rights and immigration policy, to land conservation, to helping vulnerable children in Africa. Katie is excited to share her grant writing expertise with Big Buzz Idea Group clients to expand their fundraising and grants portfolios to better equip them to fulfill their missions.
Katie was born in Albuquerque, NM, but moved shortly thereafter to a small Texas town just south of Austin, where she grew up with her three sisters, two of whom are the same age as her (yes, she’s a triplet!). She graduated from Western Washington University with a B.A. in Political Science. Katie has moved steadily west and up the western coastline, living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Washington, and now resides in Portland, OR, with her husband and two fun-loving boys.
