Melissa Lagowski, Founder and CEO of Big Buzz Idea Group, has been selected to serve as a faculty member at the Institute for Organization Management (IOM), the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
“It is such an honor to be invited to join the faculty at IOM! We at Big Buzz have always believed in sharing information and lessons learned from our experiences with others in the field so that we can make a greater impact in the world, and this will allow us to continue to do that work on a larger scale,” Lagowski said. “When leaders in the sector come together for programs like this, everyone gains so much valuable knowledge, and they can then elevate their organizations in wonderful ways. I am delighted that I have been invited to be part of that magic.”
Lagowski founded Big Buzz Idea Group nearly 20 years ago to provide nonprofit organizations with a trusted management, marketing and events partner. Big Buzz Idea Group offers a full suite of services that can be outsourced by any nonprofit organization that needs their busy work handled efficiently and effectively. The team meets its clients’ wide variety of needs with a high standard of ethics and transparency while delivering results, on budget and on time.
Over the past two decades, the team has helped secure more than $7 million for worthy causes at a variety of nonprofits and associations.
Since its commencement in 1921, the Institute program at IOM has been educating tens of thousands of associations, chambers, and other nonprofit leaders on how to build stronger organizations, better serve their members and become strong business advocates.
IOM faculty members come from varied backgrounds within the nonprofit industry, all with a commitment to providing the best education for chamber and association professionals. The faculty plays a pivotal role throughout the week, providing instruction and sharing resources in targeted courses. Many Institute faculty members continue to offer their guidance to students and their organizations throughout the year.
“Institute’s faculty members are truly the experts in their respective fields,” said Raymond P. Towle, IOM, CAE, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Vice President of Institute for Organization Management. “These individuals each bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Institute classroom that is unparalleled in nonprofit management.”
IOM is the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. It is the premier nonprofit professional development program for association and chamber professionals, fostering individual growth through interactive learning and networking opportunities.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business organization representing companies of all sizes across every sector of the economy.
